Vong Canh Hill: Admire the Beautiful Nature & Tranquility of Hue

Vong Canh Hill used to be the place where the Nguyen kings chose to take a rest and sightseeing. Surrounding the hill is a system of tombs of Nguyen kings such as: Dong Khanh tomb, Tu Duc tomb, Thieu Tri tomb, Xuong Tho tomb, Ba Cung palace,... This was also an army base of US Army during Vietnam War, and there are still some army bunkers left here.

Where is Vong Canh Hill?
The hill is about 43m high in the southwest of Hue city on the Perfume River, looking over Ngoc Tran mountain. From here, visitors will see the green gardens, pine balls, tiled roofs of some villages such as Huong Ho and Hai Cat. In particular, from here you can also see Hon Chen temple and other wonderful landscapes.
This attraction is about 7km from Hue city center. Located a few kilometers from Ngu Binh mountain, this site is another of Hue's beautiful landscapes. The way to Vong Canh Canh Hue is flat with shady green pines.
The hill is located in the middle of the most attractive bend of the Perfume River. Looking down from above into a gentle atmosphere of the afternoon or at dawn, the Perfume River appears very beautiful, bringing an unforgettable romantic feeling to those who have ever set foot in Hue. You can also rent a sightseeing private car to visit Vong Canh Hill on the way to Tu Duc Tomb. The Best Time to visit Vong Canh Hill is in the late afternoon, as at that time you can have chance to enjoy amazing sunset on Perfume River.
