Ha Long Bay Shore Excursions: Hanoi City Tour Full Day

Upon arrival, we will visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum located in Ba Dinh Square, one of the most visited Tourist Attractions in Hanoi. This is the final resting place of President Ho Chi Minh, the most iconic and popular leader of the country. He is well-known to his people as ‘Uncle Ho – Bác Hồ’. He died in 1969 and the body is now preserved in a glass case inside the Mausoleum. We take a walk outside of the building and our guide will explain to you about life and career of President Ho Chi Minh.

Have lunch at Vietnamese restaurant. You have an opportunity to enjoy Best Well-known Vietnamese cuisine named PHO (Noodle Soup with Beef/Chicken).

Continue to visit Temple of Literature & Imperial Collage – the first university of Vietnam, established in the 11 century. Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first University dating back to 1070. Inside are the stone steles mounted on the backs of turtles, inscribed with names of Vietnam best scholars. This was later also became the first university in Vietnam opened from 1076 under the Ly Dynasty of Vietnam.

We then visit Hoan Kiem Lake, a natural fresh water lake, located in the heart of Hanoi. Previously, the lake was also known as Luc Thuy Lake (rough translation: Emerald Lake) because of its year-round green water or Thuy Quan Lake (rough translation: Naval Lake) because it was used in naval drills. Around early 15th century, it was changed into Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake or Returning Sword Lake) because it was associated with the legend of King Le Thai To (1385 – 1433) returning the magical sword to the turtle deity after he borrowed that magic sword to defeat the Chinese Ming Invaders and became the first king of the Le Dynasty in Vietnam.
