Not only the famous Linh Ung Pagoda, Da Nang tourism is also known for Phap Lam Pagoda - an ancient temple associated with the development of the Vietnamese Buddhist Temple. After many times of restoration and repair, up to now, the temple is a familiar place of worship for Buddhists and a spiritual tourist attraction in Da Nang.
History of Phap Lam Pagoda in Da Nang:
Originally named the Da Nang Provincial Buddhist Association Pagoda, today it is located at 500 Ong Ich Khiem Street, Nam Duong Ward, Hai Chau District, Da Nang City. Since 1938, when the central provinces in turn applied to establish the Provincial Association, the title of the Da Nang Branch was changed to: An Nam Buddhist Studies Da Nang Provincial Association.
Next, because the concept of the word "Buddhist Studies Association" is only for the number of followers who have the spirit of learning the doctrine, it is not popular among the Buddhist masses, so the word "Buddhist Study" was changed to Buddhism.
Then, during the Congress meeting on Buddha's Birthday in the year 1951 at Tu Dam Pagoda in Hue, consisting of over 50 delegates, agreed put it under the leadership of the General Managerment of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. Later, according to the policy of the General Administrator, the Buddhist Associations should also be named Pagoda. Therefore, the Da Nang Provincial Buddhist Association has been named Phap Lam Pagoda since 1970.
Phap Lam Pagoda is abbot by monk Thich Giac Vien. For the past 32 years, the monk has been the abbot of many pagodas and monasteries in Da Nang city to propagate the Dharma and embellish it.
Although Phap Lam Pagoda is not an ancient temple, it is an important place in the activities of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Da Nang city. On March 11, 2009, after more than 4 years of construction and restoration, Phap Lam Pagoda was solemnly inaugurated.
The pagoda currently houses the office of the Buddhist Executive Board of Da Nang city and is a place to welcome thousands of tourists, monks and nuns, and Buddhists to visit, worship and live every year.
Architecture of Phap Lam Pagoda Danang:
The temple has a completely Asian architecture designed by famous architect Dang Cao De, 14m wide, 25m deep. The main hall is dignified. The statue of the Buddha sitting 1.10m high and the two statues of Bodhisattvas Avalokitesvara and Dai The Chi are cast in bronze.The lecture hall of the temple was built with a capacity of up to 100 people located on the lower floor. Above is the main hall of the temple.
Every detail inside is arranged very dignified, the carvings are extremely delicate and elaborate. In the main hall, there is also a big red common room, in addition to that, a diaphragm is placed in the middle of the front hall. These two details bring majesty to Phap Lam Pagoda in Da Nang.
One of the highlights of Phap Lam Pagoda in Da Nang is the sitting Buddha statue with a height of 1.1m. In addition, in the temple grounds, there are statues of Bodhisattvas Quan The Am and Dai The Chi, which are cast in bronze, very dignified and majestic.

You can also make a stop for visiting on the way traveling Hoi An to/from Hue.
