In 1923, the contemporary authorities built a dam underneath which formed two lakes. But in March 1932, a major storm broke both dams. From 1934 – 1935, Engineer Tran Dang Khoa designed, built a large stone dam: it is the bridge today. The French name is Grand Lac (Great Lakes)

Lang Biang Mountains is located on Lang Biang Plateau, Lac Duong District, Lam Dong Province. It’s only about 12km from Dalat centre and sometimes called Lam Vien Mountain as well.
Since Lang Biang consists of the two highest peaks of Lam Vien Highland: Lang Biang (2,167m) and 2,287m high Bidoup Ban, which is often regarded as the roof of Dalat. The mountain is famous for its spectacular nature, as well as its marvelous view of the whole wide area of Dalat City, the forest, the rivers and houses of tribal people.

Da Lat Train Station was built in 1943 and although it is small, it offers you a great glimpse of how people would have traveled in the days of old. The traditional ticket windows are still here and there is also a delightful steam train on show.
You can take the train, which is a wood burning locomotive, for around 5 kilometers up a mountain pass which ends in the idyllic village of Trai Mat Village. One thing to note however is that you need four passengers in order for the train to run so you may have to hang around if no one else shows up.

The former market was built with wood in 1929 at the present Hoa Binh square. In 1937, a big fire destroyed the market totally. After that ambassador Lucien Auger planed a new market with bricks. The market could meet the commercial demand for 6,500 people and it was considered as the symbol for the highland city.
In the front of the market, we can see the bas-relief of minority boys and girls and the Latin saying where (perhaps) the name of Dalat came from: Dat Alis Laetitiam Alis Temperiem, this means bringing happiness to this person and freshness to the other. In 1958, according to the plan of Mayor Tran Van Phuoc, the market was redesigned. It has two floors. In 1993, on the occasion of Dalat 100 years of foundation and development, Dalat market was upgraded and restored as the present market.

Dalat Night Market and Walking Streets are a popular destinations for tourists in this city, as well as a distinctive cultural characteristic that draws thousands of visitors each year. The Night Market and Walking Streets are located in the heart of Da Lat's city center, just a five-minute walk from Xuan Huong Lake and within walking distance of most of the city's attractions. It actually stays right in the place of Central market. Which opens during the daytime, starting from 6.30 AM till in the evening, stalls are set up outside and the market continues as a Night Market opening time from 05:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day.

The Valley of Love, also known as Thung Lung Tình Yêu in Vietnamese, had to get over many challenges in history in order to gain its name today. Since the French colonialism invaded Vietnam in 1858 and found a place to build a resort for French, the Valley of Love had become a place of interest where couples met and dated.
In the 1930s, the French named the valley “Vallée d’Amour” (the Valley of Love). Under the feudal regime of King Bao Dai, it was called “the Peace Valley” due to the serene atmosphere there. Not until 1953 did the captivating valley be renamed “the Valley of Love” by Mr. Nguyen Vy – the Chairman of Da Lat Council at that time.
