History and Achitecture of Rồng Mây Glass Bridge in Sapa
Sapa Glass Bridge, located in Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province officially opened in November 2019, is recognized as the tallest glass bridge in Vietnam up to date (2019) . With an altitude of approximately 2,200m, this place is also known as Heaven’s Gate on the top of O Quy Ho pass.
Starting from the O Quy Ho pass, the bridge is bent close to the Hoang Lien Son mountain range with a reach of about 60m out of the cliff. The total length of the bridge is 300m, including 4 corridors radiating in 4 directions for visitors to experience walking in the air as well as move to the adventure game area.
Although it looks “heartbreaking”, you can rest assured because the glass bridge is built with transparent tempered glass, a total of 3 layers with a thickness of more than 7 cm. In addition, 4 sides of the bridge are surrounded by glass corridors designed according to international standards, ensuring safety for tourists in all conditions.
If you don’t want to pay for the elevator, you still can hike to the bridge. However, you have to think carefully before making decicions to conquer the 3-hour hiking route here instead of 1’30s on the elevator. If it seems so costly for the returned elevator, you should buy the 1 turn elevator ticket to travel up to the bridge and walk on the way down.
