Vietnam Will Suspend Issuance Visa to All Visitors for 15-30 Days

Government Office has just announced 102 / TB-VPCP conclusion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Government Standing Committee on COVID-19 prevention and control. Accordingly, the temporary suspension of visas for foreigners entering Vietnam for a period of 30 days starting from 00h on 18/3/2020.
 
The conclusion notice stated that, in the prevention and control of Covid-19, all levels, sectors and localities have made great efforts and achieved good results. In the early stage of epidemic prevention, 16/16 cases were completely cured and limited spread in the community.

Practice shows that the disease will continue to evolve complicatedly across the globe, causing serious consequences. Vietnam is still a country with a high risk of spreading the disease, but it is still in the golden phase to control the infection. All sectors and levels must thoroughly grasp the spirit of "fighting against epidemics like fighting against the enemy", implement well the 4-point motto, mobilize the whole political system to play in the best preparation of manpower and facilities. ready to cope with epidemic outbreaks on a large scale, minimizing disease morbidity and mortality.
 
The Prime Minister requested ministries, agencies and People's Committees of localities according to their assigned functions and tasks to concentrate on directing the effective implementation of the following key solutions:
 
Temporarily stop granting visas to foreigners entering Vietnam for a period of 30 days starting at 00:00 March 18, 2020.

From 00:00 on 18/3/2020, cases of visa exemption or visa exemption certificate granted to Vietnamese people and relatives, some other special cases (such as experts, business managers, workers When entering Vietnam, a certificate of non-positive SARS-CoV virus causing Covid-19 virus will be issued by competent authorities of the host country and this certificate must be approved by Vietnam. The above-mentioned measures do not apply to people on entry for diplomatic or official purposes.
 
Cases of entry must undergo inspection and comply with appropriate epidemic prevention and control measures in accordance with regulations.
 
Earlier, from noon on March 15, Vietnam stopped entry with travelers from or passing Schengen, UK and Northern Ireland countries. This decision takes effect 30 days and does not apply to people on entry for diplomatic or official purposes.
 
For foreigners who are experts, business managers and skilled workers entering Vietnam, they must undergo medical examination and apply anti-epidemic measures at enterprises and accommodation establishments according to regulations specified.
