Vietnam Officially Export the SARS-CoV-2 (nCoV) Virus Test Kit
In a respond to the Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam has carried out many researches on SARS-CoV-2 virus rapid test kits, including the real-time RT-PCR biological kit by the Military Medical Academy in collaboration with Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company (announced on March 5), has been granted a circulation license by the Ministry of Health for mass production in Vietnam.
Talking to a VOV reporter, Mr. Phan Quoc Viet, Director of Viet A Technology Joint Stock Company, said that in the past week, the company has produced on a mass scale of 5,000 SARS-CoV-2 test kits. These products are used in tandem with the biological kit produced by the US CDC and WHO at the testing facilities. The results are very positive.
“Although it has just begun to put into mass production trials, the feedback obtained from the places using the Kit is very good. Our test kit was well rated, with great accuracy. Depending on the demand in the future, we can produce about 10,000 tests / day, the maximum capacity of 30,000 tests / day, "Mr. Viet said.
Mr. Viet also added, since the official announcement of the new nCoV strain test kit, the unit has had more than 10 countries around the world such as Belgium, Australia, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, Nigeria, South Africa, Cambodia. , Turkey, Ireland and some groups want to export to Germany, Italy ... to ask to buy the Kit. This week, the company will ship the first shipment of 50 kits (2,500 tests) to Ukraine and 100 sets (5,000 tests) to Finland.
Hanoi alone has also ordered 200,000 tests, or 4,000 sets, to use in Hanoi and donated to hospitals in Italy, where the most serious outbreak of Covid-19 in Europe.
According to the manufacturer's information, each test kit consists of 50 tests, each test uses a test for 1 person, the time for results (including the preparation time of the specimen) is 2 hours.
In terms of price, currently Vietnamese-made products cost between VND 400,000 and VND 600,000 per test. The manufacturer has the ability to supply 10,000 test kits / day (equivalent to 200 test kits) and currently has over 40 hospitals and disease control centers in Vietnam registered to buy this test kit.
Earlier, at the launch of this kit, Mr. Do Quyet, Director of Military Medical Academy, affirmed: “The kit ensures the quality, sensitivity and stability equivalent to the international ones imported to Vietnam. Male. This has great significance while the epidemic is a concern around the world, and affirms the level of Vietnamese scientists. ”
Mr. Quyet added, after having the research results, the Military Medical Academy sent to the International Journal of Virology Vigology. The journal sent the research to WHO, which immediately contacted the Military Medical Academy to ask for permission to share the research to other laboratories and the Military Medical Academy agreed.
