Depending on your chosen means of transport, this journey will take from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. From there, speedboats and ferries are ready to take you to Cat Ba Island for 70.000K to 200.000K. If you are traveling from Halong Bay, you can take the ferry or speedboat from Tuan Chau Port to Gia Luan Port in Lan Ha Bay, which will take about one hour.
Then from Cat Ba Town, it takes around 10 minutes to get to the entrance gate of the Cannon Fort. To get to the top of the hill, you can trek and hike for about 20 to 30 minutes or ride a motorbike. The paths are not very challenging for tourists, and you can also enjoy the scenery along the way and sunset on the top viewpoint in the late afternoon of summer time.
